Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, chaired a meeting with senior functionaries of the department here today.The meeting was attended by Dean Academic, JU, KU, CLUS and CLUJ, Director Colleges, HED, Nodal Principal, Jammu and Principals of GDCs and GCWs of Poonch, Rajouri, Shopian, Bhaderwah, Baramulla, Thanamandi, Kilam, B.D.Khan, Samba, Majalta, Mendhar, Tangdhar, Nawakadal, Kulgam, Khansahib and Bemina.The meeting had a threadbare discussion on several vital issues pertaining to creation of adequate infrastructure in colleges, release of balance funds and completion of on-going construction works in the colleges.Principal Secretary stressed upon timely completion of construction works under execution in these colleges across the state. He also emphasized that English Literature, Language, Mathematics and Computer Science should be taught compulsory in all GDCs through 450 permanent faculties of English and thus students of the concerned subject may have better opportunity to find their employment in the present global scenario.Introduction of various subjects such as  Food Technology, Mass Communication, Anthropology, Social Work , Public Administration, Sericulture & Tourism Management, Statistics , Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, IT,BCA ,BBA ,Computer Application, Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Geography, History, Dogri, Sanskrit, Islamic Studies, Kashmiri, English Literature, Functional English, Applied Nutrition & Dietetics in these colleges was also discussed in the meeting.
