The Minister of State for Haj & Auqaf (Independent charge), PHE and Irrigation & Flood Control, PDD and I&C, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today visited far flung village of Bakerwal Chak in Anantnag district. The village is scheduled to be developed as a model village under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP).During his visit, the Minister distributed seeds peas and fodder among the inhabitants to compliment the Agriculture Department initiative where it has taken over 700 kanals of land for pulse and fodder production. For the development of agriculture and allied sectors in the model village, the department has devised an action plan of Rs 23 lacs under which bee-keeping and water harvesting facilities shall be developed.The locals apprised the Minister with their various issues including roads, electricity, ration-supply, and healthcare. He assured their demands will be given due consideration. The Minister informed the people that under TSP all the modern facilities shall be provided to the village.The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Chief Engineers of PHE and I&FC, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Extension Officer and other district level officers.
