The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly met here today under the Chairmanship of Mohammad Akbar Lone to review the functioning and examine the Audit Paras pertaining to Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) for the period ending March 2017.The meeting was attended by the Legislators, Abdul Rashid Dar, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Nabi Monga, and Firdous Ahmad Tak.Threadbare discussions were held on various Audit Paras and the direction given by the Committee in previous meetings about the early clearance of Audit objections raised by the CAG in their report from time to time.

The Committee was not completely satisfied with the reply given by the department and decided that the department will come up with updated information related to the audit Paras so that the panel will take appropriate decision in this regard in next meeting.Detailed discussions were also held with regard to overall functioning of the FCS&CA Department. The Committee gave their valuable suggestion for further improvement in the working of the Department. It recommended for enhancement of scale of ration for the people of living remote and far off areas like Gurez, Machil, Keeran, Tangdhar, Warwan, Marwah, Dachan and Paddar.Commissioner Secretary, FCS& CA, Shafiq Ahmad Rana, representative from Accountant Generals Office, Director FCS&CA Jammu and other senior officers of FCS&CA and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
