Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh laid online foundation stone of Press Club of Shimla from state Secretariat today. The Press club is to be constructed near the old subzi mandi at a cost of Rs 1.07 crore.The Chief Minister also launched the website of the Shimla Press club www.pressclubshimla.com .The website will be updated with latest events and news besides places of tourist interests, telephone numbers and mail IDs of the journalists.The Chief Minister congratulated the members of the Press Club asking them to be more responsive while reporting various issues. He said that media had a greater responsibility to play in the fast changing world with social media becoming a handy tool and much fast. The media had to be alert and may not report such a event in haste which may be detrimental for the society as a whole.The HP State Tourism department will be executing agency for construction of the Press club said Managing Director, HPTDC Shri Dinesh Malhotra, who is also holding the charge of Director, Information & Public Relations.Chairman, HP State Co-operative Bank Shri Harsh Mahajan, Vice-Chairman, HPTDC Shri Harish Janartha were also present on the occasion amongstothers.
