Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh who was addressing a mammoth Public meeting at Killar in Pangi sub-division of district Chamba today announced to construct hostel for both boys and girls of Government Senior Secondary Schools (GSSS) at Dharwas and Purthi and another hostel for girls of GSSS Saach. He also assured to look into setting up Solar Plant in the valley and said that the construction of Micro Hydel Projects ‘Maahlu Nallah’ Phase-II and one at Dharwas would only be considered on the basis of viability and after conducting a survey.He said that Pangi had witnessed revolution in terms of development. There was a time when the area had no access to the roads but after the Resident Commissioner was posted at Killar in Pangi in the year 1986, there was no look back and the valley witnessed a ray of development and progressed slowly.  The heavy machinery and the dozers were air dropped for construction of roads and as of today, the total road length in the valley was 271 kilometers excluding (excluding) 58 kilometers of road length constructed by Border Roads Organization from Karu Nallah to Sansari Nallah. 

Besides, he said that Rs. 29 crores have been spent on roads and bridges and building in the valley during the last four and half years by the present government thus paving the way for connectivity of the far flung areas.Chief Minister said that the MBBS classes in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba would commence from this academic session. The land for the construction of medical college had been identified at Sarol where the sheep breeding farm was housed at present. He blamed the BJP for ignoring the area in terms of development and said it was the habit of BJP to take credit of works done by the Congress. He alarmed the people not to fall prey to the nefarious designs of the BJP in assembly elections as many leaders in BJP would try to lure the voters.He said that a notification had been issued for starting science classes in government college Pangi at Killar and the vacancies in the science streams would be filled on priority.Shri Virbhadra Singh appealed to the people to support the sitting MLA from the area, who had done a lot for the development of the valley.Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Police Station building at Killar to cost Rs 3.60 crore and inaugurated the civil hospital building at Killar completed with an outlay of rupees 4 crore.Forest Minister Shri Thakur Singh Bharmouri along-with large number of local people accorded warm welcome to the Chief Minister. While addressing the public meeting he attributed the development of the tribal Pangi valley to Shri Virbhadra Singh. He said that enough work had been done on roads to connect the far flung areas in Pangi. The construction work on Chasak-Bhatori road was underway and a bridge would soon be constructed there. 

Besides, work on Hilutwan, Kuthal-Gheesal, Mindhal-Kulal road projects were also in progress. He also urged for incorporating the road upto Killar under Nationla Highway projects from Dramman-Sihunta-Chamba-Tissa and connect Killar. He said 11700 people were granted employment under MNREGA in Pangi valley.The Minister said that though the government had given permission for culling the monkeys, yet the people avoided to killing them due to religious sentiments, adding that there was no harm in culling the simians causing threat to life and destroying crops. He also listed development works achieved during the regime of present government in health, education, social welfare sectors etc.State Vice President of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Ms. Savitri Bharmouri, Secretary HPCC Shri Amit Bharmouri, Chief Secretary Shri VC Pharka, Member Tribal Advisory Committee Shri Kishan Chopra, Ex-chairman Wool Federation Shri Ramcharan Rana, Block Congress President Shri Devinder Sharma, Member BoD State Forest Corporation Shri Subhash Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner  Shri Sudesh Mokhta, SP Shri Virender Tomar were also present on the occasion amongst others.
