State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against rampant corruption today nabbed a revenue Patwari posted at Ladhuwala, Jalalabad red handed accepting bribe.Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Mr. Basti Ram, Patwari, posted at halqa Ladhuwala in Jalalabad, Fazilka was caught red handed by a vigilance team led by Mr. Satwant Singh Inspector Flying Squad-1, SAS Nagar while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 7500 from Gurbir Singh, a complainant of village Pakka Kalewal, District Fazilka for division of agriculture land pertaining to family of complainant.Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 7500 from him. After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act at Flying Squad-1, Police Station/VB SAS Nagar has been registered against him and further investigation was under progress.
