Expressing deep grief over the martyrdom of Muzaffar Ahmad of Kulgam, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah Wednesday said the government was well aware that people are not willing to participate in so-called elections but still it staged this drama in order to mislead the world community and in this process took lives of our youth. In a statement issued to KNS, he expressed sorrow over the recent civilian killings and said the power-hungry pro-India politicians are still showing false dreams to people.Paying tributes to Muzaffar Ahmad, Shah said though we are extremely grieved over the loss but his sacrifice won't go waste. He strongly denounced the reign of terror unleashed upon people including students and youth and said this all is done at the behest of Saffron brigade.

Terming the protests by student community as a sign of living nations, Shah said the awakening of youth will now shake the New Delhi. "We're proud of our students and are extremely satisfied that the freedom movement has been transferred to safe hands" he said.Meanwhile, on the directions of Shah, a delegation comprising secretary general Moulana Abdullah Tari, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Mohammad Yousuf, and Feroz Ahmad visited Saddar hospital to enquire about the well being of those injured due to forces' action during recent days. The delegation prayed for their speedy recovery.Meanwhile, paying tributes to ‘Poet of the East’ Allama Iqbal on his 77th anniversary, Shah said the Muslims particularly those of the subcontinent “are indebted to this great poet for his invaluable services to Islam”.Shah said, “Even today, youth enrich themselves through Iqbal’s ever-relevant works which are the essence of Islam and the voice of freedom fighters. There is guidance for the oppressed nations in his poetry which invokes a spirit of selflessness among Muslims and infuses in them an urge for regaining the lost glory of Islam.”“Allama Iqbal (RA) was a thinker of the century whose voice continues to be the voice of subjugated nations of the world,” Shah said.
