His Holiness the Dalai Lama today during his ongoing discourse for Mongolian devotees in northern Indian town Dharamsala and said the unique millennia-old ties between Mongol and Tibetans is still alive and flourishing.“When I first visited Mongolia in 1979, there was no religious freedom for Mongolian under the communist rule, but I clearly realised at the time that people nurture deep faith in Buddhism and reverence for me. We have met several times after Mongolian achieved freedom, and our thousands of years old historical bond continue to remain alive and strong,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama told a group of about 700 Mongolian at Tsuglagkhang in his brief address before starting the teaching on Third Dalai Lama’s Essence of Refined Gold (lamrim sershunma).His Holiness also launched a website in Mongolian language, which the Mongolian have initiated during His Holiness’s visit to Mongolia in 2011. It offers viewers and readers to learn about His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings on Buddhism, environment, science, human values, peace and non-violence.  

His Holiness expressed hope that the website would be helpful for the Mongolian. “Technology has made tremendous progress, but it is being also used to create violence. In this new century, we must use technology to promote love and compassion,” he said.“The Mongolian, who follow Tibetan Buddhism as their ancestral religion, should use the technology promote non-violent thinking and action. In that way, the technology can be used as a mean to accumulate virtues,” His Holiness said.His Holiness thanked all those people, including staff members of Offices of Tibet in Russia and Japan, who have put their efforts in the website.  Over 4000 devotees from 54 countries, including US, Vietnam, England and Korea, are attending the teachings.
