Former Central Working Committee (CWC) member of Congress and former MP, Jagmeet Singh Brar along with Former MLA Dr. Harbans Lal, Former MLA Vijay Sathi, Former MLA Tarsem Jodhan, Former MLA Ripjeet Singh Brar and Former Sri Mukatsar Sahib Dist. Congress President Gurdas Girdhar today announced unconditional support of his forum ‘Punjab Lokhit Abhiyan’ to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on the issues which have been crippled Punjab.While declaring his support, Brar said that in his 42 years of political career, this is for the first time he has felt that the time is matured to declare his support to a party, which has been working hard to take Badals head-on to tackle corruption, drug menace and other sins to Punjab, for the last two years.
Comparing AAP National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Brar said that though he could not get the opportunity to meet Mahatma Gandhi in his life, but he sees all kind of virtues of Gandhi Ji in Kejriwal, who is also known for his simplicity and vision, for which Gandhi Ji used to be famous.Former MP Brar said “I have extended complete unconditional support to AAP and there is no understanding of any kind, the only understanding we have with the AAP is to save Punjab from the clutches of corrupt Akalis and Congress. Mine and my party’s prime objective is to assure the end of corrupt regime of Akalis and Congress out of Punjab to give a fresh lease of life to the people”.“We have decided to support AAP in the interest of Punjab, as both SAD and Congress have completely destroyed the farmers and agriculture besides giving birth to the menace of drugs, unemployment and the worst condition of law & order situation in the state.
On the occasion all the prominent leaders of AAP including State In-Charge Sanjay Singh, Co-Inchare Jarnail Singh, State Convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi, MP Bhagwant Mann, Head of the Punjab Dialogue Kanwar Sandhu, party’s Spokesman Sukhpal Khaira , Head of Legal Cell Himmat Singh Shergil, Spokesman Col. C.D. Singh Kamboj and senior leader Jasbir Singh Bir were present.While welcoming the support extended by the Brar’s ‘Punjab Lokhit Abhiyan’, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said “We have been in touch with Brar for long time and the issues of Punjab were discussed with him in a threadbare manner. It is not a political alliance, as we have not indulged in any kind of seat sharing or adjustment, but Brar ji has extended his support to save Punjab from all the sins, created by Badals and Congress”.Lauding the role of Brar in the politics of Punjab, Sanjay Singh revealed that Brar was the only leader of Congress, who as a parliamentarian raised voice against his own government in Punjab on the issue of massacre of Sikhs in 1984.”“We welcome his support to AAP and sure that his support would definitely help AAP to form the next Government in Punjab not only with a simple majority but with a thumbing one”, Sanjay Singh added.
