Jagmeet Singh Brar who has been leading a statewide campaign for an immediate Ordinance on the issue of Farmer Suicides and demanding a CBI enquiry on Drugs today made an appeal to all political formation in Punjab to unite for a common agenda to ensure that the next government of Punjab is neither Congress nor Akali led.He said “I appeal to all political and social leaders of Punjab to unite and work towards one agenda of stopping Akali Dal or Congress from forming the next government in Punjab. To survive Punjab needs to break the chains of this 5 year fixed match system; we must not allow the division of votes because this works directly in their favour and is anti-Punjab anti-Punjabiat”.
Saying that he has great respect for the good work and noble intentions of Navjot Singh Sidhu, Bains Brothers and Pargat Singh, he added “They are tall figures in Punjab politics and have done exemplary work for Punjab in the past – I request them with folded hands to consider the future of Punjab before making any further political decision, and urge them to keep the pro-Punjab vote united at all costs”Brar added “We must rise above personal ambition and unite to serve our mother Punjab, as sons of Punjab it is our duty to protect it from those who have looted her turn by turn every 5 years. Any wrong decision by anyone who loves Punjab will help Akalis and Congress and will push Punjab back into darkness and despair”.
