Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today declared that capital city Chandigarh belongs to Punjab forever and Punjab would get its legitimate right. Interacting with media-persons on the first day of 2 day sangat darshan of Amloh constituency, the Deputy Chief Minister said the achievements of the SAD-BJP government during the past 9 years are matchless in terms of development. He challenged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government headed by Arvind Kejriwal to match his achievements of 2 years with those of the SAD-BJP. Taking on AAP, he said this party has given nothing to the people of Delhi other than empty promises. He similarly castigated the congress party and said that the congress government did nothing on the developmental front during 2002-2007 and cannot list even a single achievement. Taking a dig at the congress, Mr Badal said this party only considers ‘patchwork on roads’ as its greatest achievement whereas the SAD-BJP government has done wonders in all the sectors.Coming to the developmental front, the Deputy CM said the SAD-BJP government has put the state on right track which has resulted in the state occupying top spot from development point of view.

Describing overall progress of Punjab as the greatest achievement of SAD-BJP, he listed welfare centric measures such as Shagan scheme, pension scheme, atta-dal scheme, free bicycle to school girls, free health insurance scheme, free power to farmers, free power worth 200 units to SC households, sewing machines to women, sports kits to youth, new law regarding availing loan for farmers, interest free loan up to Rs. 50000 for farmers, distribution of gyms, dharamshalas in villages, surplus power in Punjab along with top notch position in developing of road network, as the game changers for the people of state.Elaborating more, he said the SAD considers interests of Punjab as uppermost and supreme whereas the parties like AAP only want to grab power in order to keep the fight on with central government. He revealed that Punjab is reaping fruits of having alliance governments both in state and center. He also announced that on the hat-trick of SAD-BJP alliance in next year’s polls, all the villages would see the concretization of entire streets and drains regarding which a plan worth Rs. 30000 crore is afoot. He appealed to the people to make Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna victorious in coming assembly elections in order to ensure complete development of Amloh constituency. He assured to give greater responsibility to Jagdeep Singh Cheema.

He also accepted the demand of Raju Khanna to extend the limit of Municipal Council of industrial city Mandi Gobindgarh which was a long pending demand of the residents of the area and issued necessary instructions to the officials present in this regard. On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister disbursed developmental grants to the tune of Rs. 9 crore to 50 panchayats of Amloh and gave Rs. 6 crore for the development of 13 wards of Amloh town. In an important development strongest contender of AAP ticket from Amloh, Dr. Raghbir Shukla joined SAD which was welcomed by the Deputy Chief Minister.Among others present on the occasion were Halqa incharge Amloh Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna, Halqa incharge Fatehgarh Sahib Didar Singh Bhatti, Senior Vice President SAD Jagdeep Singh Cheema, District President SAD Fatehgarh Sahib, Ranjit Singh Libra, District President BJP Pardeep Garg, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy CM Ashwani Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kamaldeep Singh Sangha
