Thousands of Youth Akali Dal workers and members of various Sikh organizations today staged massive protests at all district headquarters in Punjab by burning the effigies of Congress Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi and demanded immediate dismissal of Congress led UPA government.The YAD leaders as well as members of various Sikh organizations said since Rahul Gandhi had confessed that Congress leaders were behind the pogrom aimed against the Sikh community, he was duty bound to name the leaders who had led the mobs which had massacred thousands of innocent Sikhs in the streets of Delhi. 

The leaders said if the Congress Vice President had any sense of fairplay and really empathised with the Sikh community he should pressurise the Congress led UPA government to put the guilty Congress leaders behind bars immediately. 

The YAD leaders also asked Pradesh Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa to clarify his stand on the confessional statement of Rahul Gandhi and tell the people of Punjab whether he would side with the murderers or demand exemplary punishment for them. The protesters also asked Bajwa his stand as a Sikh, saying did he feel he had any moral right to be part of a party which had admitted to killing thousands of innocent and defenceless Sikhs. They also asked whether the PPCC Chief has guts to seek public apology from Rahul Gandhi? . In different district headquarters in massive protesting demonstration the leaders  emphasized  that they always believed that truth about involvement and complicity of Congress party in 1984 anti Sikh massacre would come out and after the confession of Rahul Gandhi, Congress led UPA government had lost its moral right to continue in government and they pleaded Election Commission of India to derecognize Congress party with immediate effect. The protesters said that what to call of punishing the guilty various successive Congress Government decorated guilty leaders with Ministries and Party posts. They said that by doing so, they have played with the basic spirit of constitution and they have no right to continue in power.

Describing 1984 anti Sikh massacre as the darkest Chapter of history of India, the leaders said that it is for the first time after independence that the ruling political party in a planned way organized massacre of thousands of Sikhs including children, women and old people, that too in the streets of Capital of India. They said that this massacre while exposing the anti Sikh face of Congress party on one hand, had also lowered the image of India in the polity of nations.Seeking a direct answer from Rahul Gandhi, the Youth Akali Dal leaders dared him to get an exemplary action against guilty Congress leaders from the government as he had got turned down even the Cabinet decision on the sensitive issue of Lokpal. They pointed out that whether his father Rajiv Gandhi’s statement that “Earth shakes when a big tree falls” was an impediment in getting justice for the victim families. They said that even after admission on a national channel regarding Congressmen’s direct role in the Sikh massacre, Rahul Gandhi by not apologizing has shown his high headedness along with his hatred against Sikhs and Punjab. They said that in these conditions the apology of Dr. Manmohan Singh was nothing more than a political stunt of Congress. They said that keeping in view the whole scenario, the Youth Akali Dal demands the immediate dismissal of present Union government and de-recognition of Congress party.
