12th Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) Zewan Tuesday organized Free Medical and Health Awareness Camp at Govt Girls High School Zewan Srinagar in collaboration with Directorate of ISM (Ayush).On the occasion, IGP IRP Kashmir Sunil Kumar said that maintaining of general health is the key to lead the nation to touch new heights of progress and development.During the camp free medicines were distributed among the local people and children after their medical check-up done by the doctors of police and AYUSH. As many as 331 students were also examined by the doctors.Commandant, 12th Battalion (JKAP) Bakar Samoon, also spoke on the occasion and said that focused attention was given on the health issues including drug-de addition, oral health and general cleanliness in the camp.Besides medical camp, awareness lectures on health/ hygiene were imparted to school children. They were also made aware about common infectious diseases and the hazards of current serious drug issue. He said that J&K Armed Police has been organizing such events from time to time and shall continue to support the people through various police public welfare programs.
