Taking serious note of Punjab Government failed to send officers of Punjab Cadre to Chandigarh on deputation, Aam Aadmi Party today said that Badal government is cheating and misleading the people of Punjab on the issue. AAP Convener, Suchha Singh Chhotepur said that this is the finest example of Anti-Punjab face of Badals. He said that Badal is adopting double standards in sending officers on deputation while a number of posts of Punjab quota in UT Administration are lying vacant.Chhotepur said that after every five year before elections Badal tries to grab the votes of Punjabis on the Chandigarh issue while the ground reality is opposite. After the elections, Badal forget about the promises made during the elections. Recently, Punjab Government has given in writing that the government is not able to send officers on deputation for the important posts of Punjab Quota in Chandigarh Transport Undertaking. Chottepur said that it is a serious issue and need to be clarifying by the Punjab Government.

Chottepur said that just to confuse the people of Punjab, Punjab government had written a letter to the union government to seek 60% quota of Punjab cadre officers in Union Territory Chandigarh under Punjab Reorganize Act-1966. While on the other hand Punjab Government is writing letters to UT Administration showing their inability to send officers on deputation. He said that there are a lot of examples that shows the double standards being taking by Akali-BJP government on Chandigarh issue.Chottepur said that just because of the bad intention of Akali-BJP and Congress governments in the past, thousands of Punjabi youth have lost a chance to get jobs in UT Chandigarh. He said that Punjabi language has failed to get its due in Chandigarh because of the bad policies of Akali-BJP and Congress governments in the past. He said that at present the percent of Punjab Cadre officers and employees in some important department has gone down to even lesser than 5%.

AAP Convener said that because of the state government’s inability, the Chandigarh Administration has turned Chandigarh into UT Cadre giving all important portfolios to the officers of AGMAT Cadre. While this all has been happening for long time, neither Akali-BJP nor Congress has raised this issue.Chottepur said that after 2017 Elections, AAP will come into power and fight for the rights of Punjabis in Chandigarh. He said that along with Bhakra Beas Management Board  (BBMB), the quota for Punjab resident will be resorted in all other departments.
