Minister for Social Welfare,Sakina Itoo today said that State government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has registered massive development record across the State during last five years of coalition regime. However, she said that there is always room for improvement and many more steps need to be taken to improve the socio-economic conditions of under privileged and deserving class of the society.The Minister was addressing a mammoth gathering at Damhal Hanjipora here today. The Minister while giving details of the landmark achievements of present government said that the State government left no stone unturned in solving the crises of unemployment by filling up of thousands of vacancies through various recruitment agencies besides the government launched various schemes for setting up of income generating units by unemployed educated youth by virtue of liberal funding by central and State government.Referring to massive developmental scenario existing in all the three regions of State, Ms Sakina said that a network of roads connecting far flung and remote areas of the State and large number of complexes for housing hospitals, educational institutions and government offices were constructed in length and breadth of the State. Numbers of mega bridges connecting vast areas of the state were also constructed to provide connectivity and access to uncovered areas.
Appealing people to strengthen the hands of government in execution of developmental and welfare programmes, the Minister asked them to keep the facts in mind while exercising their franchise in forth coming elections she impressed upon the workers to be united to face the challenges and obstacles being raised by vested interest bent upon damaging the peaceful and fragile atmosphere of the State coating a proverb that united we stand and pide we fall” the Minister appreciated the sincere and dedicated attitude of the workers exhibited by them during last five years of regime of present popular government. Ms. Sakina said government has given fullest attention for the socio-economic upliftment and dignified life of people in State. Among others various district officers and public preventatives were present on the occasion.
