In his continuous efforts to ensure the adjustment of local land owners and unemployed youths of Banihal in Railway and four lane NHW project former minister and member legislative assembly Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani today visited the ongoing strike of people from hingni shagan Ramsu and other adjoining areas at Railway tunnel Hingni Ramsu Banihal and address huge gathering of agitating youths there.While speaking on the occasion Vikar Rasool Wani urged upon the railway and four lane NHW construction companies to give priority to the local people in jobs as well as in construction work. He added that Banihal is the worst victim of these companies as the maximum land of locals has been acquired by railway and NHW construction companies for the construction of these projects but no attention is being paid towards the problems of local unemployed youths and contractor Community of Banihal and Ramban district.
After hearing the issues of people sit on dharna at Hingni Ramsu from last couple of days MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani Sunday called emergency meeting of district Adam's, Company management and representative of local public in which MLA Banihal strongly criticise the attitude of Railway company AFCON for neglecting local skilled and unskilled people in the project meeting was informed that out 300 only 150 local people were adjusted as contract laborers while as 177 non locals from Bihar, Himachal pardesh and other parts of the India were engaged in this project by the AFCON railway company.
MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool takes strong notice of issue and directs the district administration to ensure maximum adjustment of locals in the project. He said that the construction of these projects will remain off till the justice will not be provided to the local public.Meanwhile MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani Sunday also visited the Nowgam Panchayat of Banihal block along with the Tehsil administration and take stock of ongoing works in the said Panchayat after review of development activities MLA Banihal hold public darbar at Bhatpora and listen the grievances of general masses there.He directed the officials to speed up the construction work of RCC culvert on Danar road and sanctioned required funds for link road Nai Basti Nowgam and also assured the deputationists that all the highlighted grievances will be solved in short possible time.
