Minister of State for Health, habir Ahmad Khan today inaugurated 2-day free health camp at Katra.The health camp was organized by Rotary Club in collaboration with Sudarshan Trust and Health Department.During the camp the patients will be provided free health care facilities including artificial lambs/accessories to the disabled persons.Member legislative Council, Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma, representatives of Rotary Club, Sudarshan Trust and senior functionaries of Health Department were also present on the occasion.

Lauding the role of the Rotary International and Rotary Club, Jammu for its philanthropic activities across the country, the Minister said that the Club is doing yeoman's service to the mankind in various fields and supplementing government efforts. He said Club is always on the forefront to render its services during the crisis and extending helping hand to the needy. He said that Government wants to work in close coordination with the voluntary organizations, who are engaged in extending welfare services to the society, adding that the representatives of these NGOs should maintain close liaison with the health department in highlighting various government schemes and creating awareness of various dreaded diseases among the masses in the rural and far-flung areas.

Appreciating the gesture of the Rotary International for providing free artificial limbs to the disabled persons, the Minister asked them to cover more areas in the remotest pockets of Jammu pision to help the deserving patients. He assured all necessary assistance to the Club for speeding up its activities in different sectors.Later the Minister also took stock of the functioning of SDH Katra and old hospital Reasi. He went round each sections of these hospitals, met with the patients and enquired their welfare besides facilities provided to them by the hospital administration. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper treatment to the patients. He instructed that due care should be given to mother and child treatment for the purpose the government has already provided funds to all hospitals for their free medicare facilities.

The Minister also inspected construction work of new SDH complex and ANMT School Reasi, which are apace at the total cost of Rs. 36.69 crore. He was apprised that so far an amount of Rs. 15 crore has been expended on these projects and outpatient block of the hospital was completed ,while as the work on emergency block is apace and would be completed  in a time bound manner.The Minister was also apprised that construction work on ANTM School, Reasi is near completion and so far an amount of Rs 2 crore has been spent on the project.Mr. Shabir directed the concerned authorities to double their efforts and accelerate the pace of work on all ongoing projects in the area for their timely completion.
