Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party (CLP), has flayed the BJP Government, led by chief minister, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar, for its commitment towards ‘zero tolerance for corruption’, a claim repeatedly made by the state government but the reality is totally different. She said the BJP Government talks of education, making new schools and claims no corruption but doesn’t take action against those who blatantly encroach and misuse government school building at Bigopur village in district Mahendergarh.
In a statement issued here today, the former Excise and Taxation Minister said, “How the BJP government is committed on the issue of corruption when a Calling Attention Motion and Adjournment Motion on the same issue have been rejected on the ground that the matter lacks urgency and the subject matter is not of recent occurrence.” Ms Choudhry also asked why a company owned by one Rao Rohtas Dagar has been allowed to take over a 40-year-old school building in Bigopur village.“No action till date has been taken against Rohtas Dagar who illegally occupied the school premises because of political patronage. This clearly belies the BJP government’s claim of ‘zero tolerance for corruption’,” she stated. She said the school building, which is meant for imparting education to children, has turned into a store and parking area by the encroachers and asked why the BJP Government is silent on this issue. All this makes chief minister’s claim on ‘no corruption’ laughable.
