The Congress Legislature Party leader Rigzin Jora Thursday strongly opposed the move of the state government to outsource police recruitment.“Already this government has dealt a severe blow to the hopes and aspirations of the educated unemployed youth with the new recruitment policy. The move to outsource recruitment in police is a further blow to the fate of the unfortunate youth of the state. Government’s intentions are neither clean nor clear,” Jora said in a statement to KNS.He alleged that while contractual recruitment is being resorted to because of its inability to secure funding from the government of India despite all the hoopla created by the Finance Minister, the police recruitment is being outsourced at the behest of the Home Ministry. “Has the government lost faith in our own police recruitment? What has compelled the government to outsource police recruitment? It is unheard of that any state has done so. The only reason that can be thought of is the pressure from Home Ministry,” he alleged.“At the instance of the RSS the state government has buckled. The RSS is walking all over the Modi government. What happened in the Human Resource Development Ministry is a common knowledge where people with leanings to RSS ideology have been nominated to prestigious national institutes, Jora alleged. “Now they are influencing police recruitment in a sensitive state where the police forces besides maintaining law and order have to fight the separatist and the secessionist.”
