District Administration to host Punjab's First Equestrian Festival in collaboration with Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab at The Ranch, Forest Hill Resort, Gate No 4, Village Karoran on March 1 and 2. Reviewing the ongoing preparations during a meeting with the concerned departments and agencies, DC Komal Mittal said that all the arrangements should be in place by tomorrow (Friday) evening without missing any deadline.
The equestrian festival which is being arranged first time with the inclusion of about 250 indigenous breeds Marwari and Nukra, would showcase a number of events during the festival from 8 to 8 viz Horse Jumping, ring Competitions, Tent Pegging, Display of Marwari Breed, a unique fasion show with horses and performance by NZCC teams and musical evenings by Renowned Punjabi Singers on both days.
She said that the event has no entry fees, neither from the entrants not from the audience. All are welcomed to witness the unique festival based on the performance of equestrians. Horse breeds from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan besides sports breeds from Punjab Police, Haryana Police, ITBP and Private Stud farms have been invited for the event, she added.
There has been three Arenas have been set up at the venue, The Ranch, Forest Hill Resort, Gate No 4, Village Karoran for successful conduct of this two-day equestrian festival. Apart from that Cultural events would be performed by the NZCC teams in the day time while audiance to be enthralled by the renowned Punjabi Singers Meet Kaur (on Day 1) and Dilpreet Dhillon on (Day 2) from 6:00 pm onwards.
Sharing the chronology of events, she said that on day-1, Team Lance Tend Pegging, Six Bar Jumping, Sword Individual Tent Pegging, Horse Dance Competition, Fashion Show, Dressage Preliminary, Open Hacks, Farrier Test, Milk Teeth Filly Ring, Horse Display, Milk Teeth Colt Ring, Two Teeth Colt Ring and Fashion Show would be organised.
On Day-2, Lance Individual Tent Pegging, Show Jumping Derby, Sword Team Tent Pegging, Fancy Dress, Final Run Sword Team, Medley Relay, Medal Ceremony, Dressage Elementary, Show Jumping Group 1-2-3, Pole Bending Race, Ball and Bucket Race, Ladies Hacks, Mare Nukra Ring, Horse Display, Stallion Nukra Ring, Mare Marwari Ring, Horse Display, Stallion Marwari Ring will be the attraction of the day.
She said that Medical and animal husbandry teams have already been deputed while other arrangements like cleanliness and leveling have been given finishing touch. ADC Sonam Chaudhary, SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh, CMFO Deepankar Garg, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr Ankita Kansal, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dr Shivkant Gupta, District Sports Officer Rupesh Kumar, Representatives from Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department were among the prominent persons present in the meeting.
