Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. Karamjeet Singh, underscored the pivotal role of higher education in enhancing employment opportunities during an interactive session with renowned economist Professor Arun Kumar, a former professor of economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

He highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of rural development as essential for achieving inclusivity and sustainable growth in the Indian economy.
Furthermore, Prof. Kumar critiqued the current methodology of official data collection, revealing significant gaps that hinder accurate assessments of economic health, particularly regarding the unorganized sector.
