Health officials directed to provide better and quality health care services

To review the progress of various health programs and schemes, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain held a monthly meeting with the program officers and senior medical officers of the district here today. She said they are committed to provide better, timely and quality health care facilities to the people, for which all staff need to do their work with more diligence and loyalty.
The civil surgeon specifically directed the officials not to prescribe medicines which are available at outside chemist shops. She further said if any prescribed medicine is not available; it is the duty of the in-charge officer to make that particular medicine available for the patient.
She said that emergency teams and kits should be ready in ambulances at all times. Health officials were asked to pay special attention to cleanliness in the hospitals, especially toilets. She said that punctuality and discipline must be maintained in every institution and timely attendance of staff is mandatory.
Dr Jain directed to ensure 24 hours of power supply in hospitals and said that there must be proper power backup to cope with an emergency situation. She also asked officials to work for fulfilling Kayakalap quality criteria. Expressing satisfaction over the flow of patients in the 'Aam Aadmi Clinics' and the health facilities being provided there, the Civil Surgeon told the officials that the patients coming to these centers should not face any problem.
She said that people are very enthusiastic about these centers and are coming in large numbers. Emphasizing on the prevention of dengue, malaria, chikungunya and other diseases in the upcoming months, the civil surgeon asked all the officials to make people more aware about the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of these diseases.
Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh, District Immunization officer Dr Girish Dogra, Deputy medical commissioner Dr Parwinderpal Kaur and all senior medical officers etc. were present in the meeting.
