Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana on Friday conducted a surprise inspection of the Uchana grain market in Jind district and ordered the suspension of Mandi Secretary, Mandi Supervisor and Diary Clerk on charges of negligence in duty. The minister took strict action on the basis of complaints received against them.

The Agriculture Minister said complaints of absence of officials in the mandis were being received. To confirm these complaints, he decided to conduct a surprise inspection. Sh. Rana warned that negligence in duty will not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

During the inspection, the minister checked the record register and directed the officials to provide all the necessary facilities to the farmers coming to the mandis. Giving strict instructions to senior officials, he said that all the employees should be present at the workplace on time and the problems of the farmers should be resolved immediately.

Today's action by the Agriculture Minister is the second major action in a week. Earlier, on February 6, he had conducted a surprise inspection of the grain markets of Sadhaura town and Raipur Rani in Yamunanagar district. While inspecting the animal hospital of Batta village in Kaithal district today, the Agriculture Minister directed the hospital staff to provide all necessary medical facilities to the animals.

Apart from this, he also instructed the staff to maintain cleanliness in the mandis. Later, the minister visited Kharbala and Sisar villages of Hisar district. Here the villagers apprised the minister about the problem of beans in the land.

The minister directed the officials of the Agriculture Department to conduct a survey to solve this problem and make arrangements for installing tube wells. He also gave a stern warning to the officials of the State Agricultural Marketing Board and said negligence in duty will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He said solving the problems of farmers is the top priority of the administration.
