Surajkund International Mela become a symbol of craftsmanship and cultural prosperity : Vivek Joshi

Chief Secretary visits exhibition organized by the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums at Surajkund Mela

Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vivek Joshi  on Saturday visited the ongoing 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela in Faridabad and praised the artisans for their remarkable craftsmanship. During his visit, Sh. Vivek Joshi  also visited the exhibition set up by the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, Haryana at the Mela.

He also visited stalls from different states and praised the artistic skills displayed. He said that Haryana has made remarkable progress in art and culture, heritage, and tourism.The Chief Secretary further said that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh, the Surajkund International Crafts Mela has gained a unique reputation worldwide. 

He said that this Mela  is exceptional as it showcases India's handicrafts, handlooms, and rich cultural diversity. The idea behind organizing  this Mela is to provide a platform for artisans, craftsmen, musicians, and artists from different states of India and various countries, said the Chief Secretary. He said that Haryana is now counted among the fastest-growing states in the country, and the Surajkund Mela is one of its most prestigious events.

Chief Commissioner, Chandigarh Right to Service Commission, Dr Mahavir Singh, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation, Sh. Sunil Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Vikram Singh and other senior officers remained present on this occasion.
