250 People Undergo Free Medical Check-up at Medical Camp
World Himachal Organization Organizes Free Medical Camp on Himachal Rajyotsav Day

On the occasion of Himachal Pradesh’s 54th Rajyotsav Day, the World Himachal Organization organized a free medical camp at the Shri Radha Krishna Temple, Sector 40A, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. A.K. Atri, Principal Director, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. The event was graced by special guests, including BP Arora, President of the Hindu Parv Mahasabha Chandigarh, and Arun Sood, former Mayor of Chandigarh and BJP Municipal Corporation.
The medical camp, which saw participation from renowned specialists of Mohali’s Cheema Medical Complex Super Specialty Hospital, offered free consultations by neurologists, orthopedists, urologists, dermatologists, along with ECG, BMD, RBS acupuncture tests. Over 250 individuals were examined, and several tests were conducted. Notably, the BMD test, which assesses bone health, was also offered for free, a test typically valued in the thousands.
While providing details of the event, Asha Jaswal, Chairperson of the World Himachal Organization, stated that this was the first time Himachal Pradesh’s full statehood day was celebrated in Chandigarh. To mark this historic occasion, the organization set up a medical camp to offer free health check-ups to the public. "Our organization is a social service body that regularly organizes community programs, and today's event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Shri Radha Krishna Temple, Sector 40, and Cheema Hospital Mohali, along with the dedication of our members," she said.
Asha further thanked the 12 Himachali organizations from Chandigarh and nearby areas for their participation, including the All India Migrant Himachali United Front Delhi, Humanity Foundation, Himachal Welfare Society Moulijagra, Himachal Sabha Sector 56, and others, as well as representatives from Shri Durga Temple Sector 41 and the Himachal Wing of BJP Chandigarh.
The camp’s success was attributed to the hard work of the World Himachal Organization's members: Ravindra Pathania, Minakshi Thakur, Rajesh Thakur, Tarsem Sharma, B.K. Bali, Sanjeev Grover, Suresh Rana, Suparna, Amit Rana, Mohinder Nirala, Sunny Rajput, Rajpal Dogra, among others.
Guests including Prof. Gulshan Mehta, Auditor at Government Medical College and Hospital Sector 32, former Mayor Ravikant Sharma, Shivendra Mandhotra from the Chandigarh Advisory Committee, and several other prominent figures were also present. Prof. Atri began the camp with a prayer ceremony at the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Prof. A.K. Atri, congratulated Asha Jaswal and the entire team for the success of the program and said, “If a person has a clear goal in life, no obstacle can stop them from achieving it. We, as Himachalis, must unite and do something for the future generations. Although the traditions, food, and culture of Himachal vary from district to district, Himachalis have always left a distinct mark wherever they went.”
He also praised the medical camp organized by the World Himachal Organization, calling it a significant social service initiative, and stressed the responsibility of giving back to society, which in turn strengthens trust in such institutions. Arun Sood, former Mayor of Chandigarh, expressed his pride in being associated with the World Himachal Organization, noting that the organization has consistently organized social welfare and cultural programs.
Regarding the medical camp, he emphasized the importance of the tests conducted, which are crucial for everyone to get done regularly, as early detection helps prevent health issues and maintain a healthy life.
