District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Nidhi Malik chaired a meeting today to assess the physical and financial progress of projects under execution for the revival, restoration, preservation, and maintenance of the district's architectural and heritage assets.
The meeting focused on evaluating ongoing works under Phase 1 and planning for subsequent phases to ensure the District’s rich cultural and historical legacy is effectively preserved. During the review, the DDC emphasized the need for expediting the remaining work under Phase 1 and instructed concerned officials to address any bottlenecks hindering progress.
Highlighting the importance of seamless coordination, she urged departments to prioritize timely utilization of funds to achieve tangible outcomes. DDC further stressed the significance of preserving Reasi’s architectural and cultural heritage to boost tourism and foster a sense of pride among the local community.
Asking for a proactive approach, the DDC directed officials to submit pre-feasibility reports for the projects planned under Phase 2 promptly. She also instructed Tehsildars to identify potential projects for Phase 3 under the supervision of the ACR/SDM and ensure the report is submitted within a week.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work collaboratively toward enhancing Reasi's heritage infrastructure and preserving its historical essence. ADDC Sukhdev Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, SE PW(R&B), CPO, DSEO, CEO and other officials were present.
