Haryana shines at 50th Junior National Kabaddi Championship

Haryana's men's team wins gold, women's team wins silver medal

Haryana's kabaddi teams once again brought laurels to the state at the 50th Junior National Kabaddi Championship held at Roshnabad Stadium, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The men’s team won the gold medal, while the women’s team secured the silver. Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister and President, Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, congratulated the players on their achievements. 

Sh. Panwar said that the men's kabaddi team performed exceptionally well, defeating Uttarakhand in the final with a huge score of 51-21 to claim the gold medal. The women’s team earned the silver medal, with a close margin of 45-44 in their final match. 

He praised the players’ hard work and dedication, stating that this historic victory has elevated Haryana’s status in kabaddi. He extended his congratulations to the Chairman, Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Dalal, Secretary, Sh. Naseeb Janghu, the coaches, and all officers involved. 

Speaking about the players' achievements, Sh. Panwar said that this success reflects how determination, hard work, and teamwork lead to excellence. This victory will inspire young athletes to persist in pursuing their goals despite challenges. 

Haryana players have consistently excelled in kabaddi at national and international levels showcasing a bright future in the sport, added the Minister. Sh. Panwar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the government is promoting sports at national and international level through new policies that have benefited athletes nationwide. 

He said that it is due to the new sports policies of the country that India is being recognised in this field at international level. Besides this, he commended Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini for rewarding Olympic and Paralympic medalists with the highest cash prizes in the country, further motivating athletes. 

He further said that over 1,000 sports nurseries have been established in the state to provide training to youth in their chosen sports. Haryana has now become a hub for sports in the country.
