Former chairman of Improvement Trust Dinesh Bassi has strongly condemned the insult done by BJP to the last rites of former Prime Minister of the country Dr. Manmohan Singh. Dinesh Bassi says that BJP has displayed their narrow thinking. Dinesh Bassi today paid tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh in the condolence meeting organized for him in Eastern constituency and remembered him with moist eyes.

All the leaders including the councillors of Eastern constituency attended the condolence meeting organized at Rama Palace. Paying tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dinesh Bassi said that today I bow down from the bottom of my heart to Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was a great son of the country and a very strong Prime Minister, and today while remembering him, my eyes are moist, but my heart is very sad that the last rites of Dr. Manmohan Singh, who was the first Sikh Prime Minister of the country, were not performed at Rajghat.

The Modi government not giving place for the memorial till now is an insult to the whole country. Dr. Manmohan Singh was not only a capable economist but also a Prime Minister who saved the sinking economy of the country and then raised it so much that today India stands with developed countries.

He had a special relationship with Amritsar and the people of Amritsar. He always talked about bringing new projects for Amritsar and also gave many projects. There are many schemes in Amritsar including the development of Ring Road, MNREGA Scheme, Right to Education Act, Right to Information Act, which are the contribution of Dr. Manmohan Singh.

He said that the BJP government should provide space for the memorial of Dr. Manmohan Singh as soon as possible and should assure the people that they do not discriminate. On this occasion, Councilor Navdeep Singh Hundal, Councilor Shinder Bidlan, Manjit Singh Verka, Lady Verka, Bobby Verka, Councilor Rajiv Chhabra, Councilor Gagan Valla, Sandeep Singh Shah, Rana Rakhra, Rajbir Singh, Sagar and Ravi Prakash were present among others.
