Strict action against those selling and producing adulterated food: Minister of state Rajesh Nagar

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Sh. Rajesh Nagar said that selling or producing adulterated food will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He assured strict action will be taken against anyone engaging in such activities. Sh. Rajesh Nagar was addressing a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee held in Kurukshetra on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Sh. Rajesh Nagar heard 14 agenda complaints, resolving seven on the spot and directing concerned department officers to take swift action on the remaining cases. Taking strict cognizance of a complaint by Prem Chand from Sector 3, the Minister directed stringent action against an individual involved in making adulterated paneer. Inspector, Dr. Amit Kumar informed the meeting that strict measures had already been taken, and three samples of the adulterated paneer were sent to the lab for testing.
The minister further said that if the samples fail quality tests, the culprit will face severe legal consequences, including penalties of up to Rs. 10 lakh, as per the rules. He also directed the administration to submit a detailed report promptly to ensure appropriate action.
Resolving another complaint by Amreek Singh from Umri village, the Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to approve the installation of a tubewell to provide drinking water at Guraya Farm.
