Waste management redressal in Amritsar to be expedited

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sakshi Sawhney and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Gulpreet Singh inspected the Bhagtanwala Dump today, addressing ongoing cleanliness complaints in the city. During the visit, they reviewed the company's progress and expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work. The Amritsar administration is committed to addressing waste management concerns and ensuring a cleaner city and met the representatives of the Averda company to review implementation of the action plan and timelines for redressal of the waste management.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the company to accelerate bioremediation efforts and ensure separate collection of wet and dry waste. She directed to the company authority of additional machinery will be installed at the dump site to tackle garbage issues. The company was urged to acquire more machines and vehicles for city cleaning. DC emphasized on maintaining daily cleanliness and eliminating garbage piles.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gulpreet Singh also stressed upon the need for efficient waste collection and daily cleanliness. Dr. Kiran Kumar and Sanitary Inspector Sarbjit Singh also present at the time.
