No one will face any problem in the purchase of paddy in the mandis: MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta

For the first time in the history of Punjab, there has been an increase in the lifting of paddy in the mandis – Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar

On the directions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Maan, MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta along with MLA Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Sakshi Sawhney, DMO Amandeep Singh and DFSC Sartaj Singh along with other officials inspected Dana Mandi Bhagtanwala.

MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is keeping full supervision of the purchase of paddy in all mandis of Punjab. He said that on the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, all the cabinet ministers and legislators of Punjab are visiting the mandis and inspecting the mandis so that the farmers do not face any kind of problem. 

He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he has reached the market today along with the officials. He said that during the conversation with the farmers in the market, the farmers said that they are not facing any kind of difficulty.

MLA Dr. Gupta today also held a special meeting with Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, Mandi Board, District Food Supply, General Managers of agencies and other officials. He said that proper lifting of the paddy coming in the mandis should be ensured and the lifting has also accelerated.

MLA Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that farmers will not be allowed to face any kind of problem. Lifting and payment of paddy to farmers is continuing. He directed the officials to ensure the purchase of paddy by continuously coordinating with the agencies. 

He said that for the first time in the history of Punjab there has been an increase in the lifting of paddy in the mandis and along with this payments are being made to the farmers, if there is any problem they can contact the Deputy Commissioner. 

He said that Guru Nagar Amritsar has got a good team of Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh besides the very talented and hard working Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney. Due to which Amritsar will touch great heights in the coming days.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that all the officers including themselves are visiting the mandis and solving the problems of the farmers on the spot. He said that so far 35183 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the mandis and Rs 43.08 crore has been paid to the farmers. 

He said that the sheller owners have paid the farmers by purchasing 332984 metric tons of Basmati from the mandis. He said that lifting is being increased due to the increase in paddy arrival. He appealed to the farmers to bring only dry paddy to the mandis so that they do not face any kind of trouble.
