"Three-day Teej festival begins with great fanfare - village Bhalaiana adorned with heritage colors

The three-day 'Tiyan da mela' organized by the Punjab Government's Cultural Affairs and Archaeology Department with the collaboration of District Administration began today in village Bhalaiana. The festival was inaugurated by MLA Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar by lighting a lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar said that the Punjab Government has started such initiatives to promote the rich cultural heritage of the state. He said that through these initiatives, we are connecting our new generation with our rich heritage.

He praised the women for their achievements in every field and appealed to them to celebrate festivals related to their heritage with full enthusiasm. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Tripathi said that during the three-day festival, various colors of Punjabi culture such as Gidda, Bhangra, and folk games will be showcased. 

Apart from this, various self-help groups have set up their stalls here. The entire village of Bhalaiana has been adorned with heritage colors due to the festival. The first day's program began with Shabad Kirtan, followed by folk dance competitions. 

Apart from this, various other cultural competitions and the village's scenery attracted a large number of people. The district administration honored the main guests and students who presented cultural programs on the occasion. Before that, the main guest visited the stalls showcasing ancient cultural heritage.

-Present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner development Surinder Singh Dhillon, SDM Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Jashan Brar District President, Surjit Singh Sandhu Chairman Market Committee, Sukhjinder Singh Brar President Truck Union, District Social Security Officer Jagmohan Singh Mann, and District Education Officer Jaspal Monga."
