The Finance Minister, J P Dalal hoisted the flag at Rohtak. While paying tribute to all known and unknown martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the altar of independence, Sh. Jai Prakash Dalal, said that the sacrifice of these brave soldiers has preserved the unity and integrity of the nation.

He said that in memory of the first spark of the freedom movement from Ambala in 1857, a Shaheedi Samarak is being constructed in Ambala Cantonment dedicated to the martyrs. He said that the farmer-friendly government has decided to purchase all crops from farmers at Minimum Support Price.

The Minister said that Haryana has become the first state in the country to do so. The government has abolished the farmer's Abiyana and also waived past dues. In view of the low rainfall, the government has decided to give a bonus of Rs. 2,000 per acre for Kharif and horticultural crops. An amount of Rs. 5,693.59 crore has been disbursed to 20 lakh farmers in 17 installments under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
