In continuation of tree plantation campaign, PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala organized a campaign in the villages Kheri Mania, Moond Khera & Bakshiwala on 2.08.2024. In this campaign more than 40 farmers and farm women have participated enthusiastically.
Dr. Gurupdesh Kaur, Professor cum Incharge at KVK, Patiala shared inputs regarding tree plantation benefits such as environment protection. She inspired to grow quality and healthy fruits in home gardening. She discussed various activities and training programs conducted by KVK Patiala for the benefit of farmers and farm women.
Dr. Rajni Goel, Professor (FST) talked about nutritive value of fruits and processing of traditional fruits like jamun, bael, karonda etc. Dr Rachna Singla, Professor (Horticulture) guided on selection of fruit plants, digging of pit, planting distance and after care of plants.
Farmers ensured that they will manage their new plantings efficiently. Dr Hardeep Singh, Assistant Professor (Plant Prot.) provided guidance about the integrated disease management of fruit plants in rainy season. He discussed about management of rice dwarf virus and other diseases of paddy.
150 plants, including mango, neem, Jamun, beal, Karonda and moringa plants were distributed to the farmers for planting around their tubewells, school and common lands.

ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਬੂਟੇ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੇੜੀ ਮਾਨੀਆ, ਮੂੱਡ ਖੇੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਵਾਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ’ਚ 40 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ -ਕਮ- ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਕੇ.ਵੀ.ਕੇ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਲਾਭਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਬਗੀਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਫਲ ਉਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੇ.ਵੀ.ਕੇ. ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਭ ਲਈ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ: ਰਜਨੀ ਗੋਇਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ (ਐਫ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ.) ਨੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੌਸ਼ਟਿਕ ਮੁੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਮਨ, ਬੇਲ, ਕਰੌਂਦਾ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਸੈਸਿੰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ ਰਚਨਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ (ਬਾਗਬਾਨੀ) ਨੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੌਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ, ਟੋਏ ਪੁੱਟਣ, ਪੌਦੇ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੌਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਬੂਟੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਾਲਣਗੇ। ਡਾ: ਹਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ (ਪੌਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਟ.) ਨੇ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਦੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੌਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਏਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਰੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੋਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਿਊਬਵੈੱਲਾਂ, ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਂਝੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅੰਬ, ਨਿੰਮ, ਜ਼ਾਮਨ, ਬੇਲ, ਕਰੌਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਰਿੰਗਾ ਦੇ ਪੌਦਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ 150 ਪੌਦੇ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ।
