MLA Kulwant Singh Intervenes to resolve the issue of garbage collection
Takes Joint Meetings of MC and GMADA Officials along with the Deputy Commissioner

Taking cognisance of the garbage collection issue in Mohali city, MLA SAS Nagar, Kulwant Singh along with Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain, took a joint meeting of MC and GMADA officials to address the persisting issue of Garbage Collection and asked both departments to manage the garbage disposal at their own without causing problem to the Mohali Residents.
He said that the residents should not be harassed due to the issue of garbage disposal and it is the prime duty of both the departments to ensure the proper management of solid waste in their respective areas. He said that the RMCs (Resource Management Centres) falling in the areas of Municipal Corporation and GMADA would be handled by both the urban bodies to give the residents a major relief.
He said that both the urban bodies have reached a consensus to manage the garbage till the permanent solution of the problem by their own Solid Waste Management agencies. The MLA further added that the technical and legal hitches would be cleared for the proposed Solid Waste Management plan to come up at Samgoli village to give a long-term solution to the problem.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain while taking part in the deliberations said that though the issue is serious it should be unwarranted for the people of the Mohali MC limits and GMADA-developed areas. She said that the people have high hopes for both the urban bodies, so before reaching a permanent solution, the immediate measure is to collect the garbage by temporary means.
She emphasised good coordination between both the urban bodies to sort out the issue of garbage disposal immediately. She asked the MC Commissioner Mrs Navjot Kaur and Additional Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, Amarinder Singh Tiwana to get the solid management agencies involved in the issue so that the people could not suffer more.
The officers present in the meeting included Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann and SDM Mohali Depankar Garg.

ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੜੇ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਦਾ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ.ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਅਤੇ ਗਮਾਡਾ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੂੜਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਲ ਲਈ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੂੜੇ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਾਸੀ ਕੂੜੇ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਫਰਜ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਠੋਸ ਰਹਿੰਦ-ਖੂੰਹਦ ਦੇ ਸਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਅਤੇ ਗਮਾਡਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਆਰ ਐਮ ਸੀ (ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਸੈਂਟਰ) ਨੂੰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਈ ਹੱਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੂੜੇ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਲਿਡ ਵੇਸਟ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਆ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਮਗੋਲੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਿਤ ਠੋਸ ਰਹਿੰਦ-ਖੂੰਹਦ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਲਈ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਅੜਚਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਹੱਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਮਸਲਾ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਅਤੇ ਗਮਾਡਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਗੈਰਵਾਜਬ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਸਥਾਈ ਹੱਲ ਕੱਢਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਰਜ਼ੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕੂੜਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੂੜੇ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਗਰੇਟਰ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਏਰੀਆ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਟਿਵਾਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਠੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਨਾ ਝੱਲਣੀ ਪਵੇ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਜ) ਵਿਰਾਜ ਸ਼ਿਆਮਕਰਨ ਤਿੜਕੇ, ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ) ਦਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਸਡੀਐਮ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦੀਪਾਂਕਰ ਗਰਗ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
