Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi campaigned in Nahan, Sirmaur district today. Addressing a large public meeting, he appealed for the victory of all four Congress Party Lok Sabha candidates, stating, "Priyanka and I are your soldiers in Delhi, and we will raise the voice of Himachal Pradesh in the capital."

Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narender Modi for failing to provide aid to Himachal Pradesh following last monsoon season's disaster, which affected over 22,000 families. He said that the union government has yet to release Rs 9,000 crore in relief funds to the state.

Additionally, he accused Modi of colluding with Adani and the media, resulting in unfair prices for apple growers in Himachal. ”Modi has handed over the entire apple storage facility to a single individual who now controls apple prices” said Rahul.

Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narender Modi of serving the interests of 20-25 wealthy individuals of the country, citing the allocation of seven airports to Adani's company, which is also involved in weapons manufacturing. "As long as Modi is in power, Adani's company will continue to profit," he stated.

He further claimed that Modi is focused on making 22 people in the country millionaires, pointing out that Rs 16 lakh crore in loans for these individuals have been waived off over the past decade, while farmers' loans remain unpaid. Gandhi criticized the media for ignoring issues like apple prices, farmers' and laborers' problems, and instead highlighting trivial matters like Adani's marriage.

Rahul Gandhi said that BJP government has devastated millions of small businesses through demonetization and the mismanagement of GST implementation. He said that the dreams of a select few are being fulfilled while the rest of the country looks on.

Rahul Gandhi promised to uplift millions by making them millionaires, transferring one lakh rupees annually to the accounts of impoverished women, ensuring a legal guarantee of minimum support price for farmers, creating 30 lakh government sector jobs, and increasing the daily wage of MNREGA to Rs 400, if Congress party voted to power.

He said that graduate youth will be granted the 'Pehli Naukri Pakki Adhikar' for employment in government entities. “The party pledges to waive farmer loans, double the income of Anganwadi and Asha workers upon assuming power” he said.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized the sanctity of the Constitution, stating that it embodies the voice of India, and criticized the BJP for what he sees as attacks on it. He pledged strong resistance from Congress workers against such assaults, highlighting the Constitution's enduring relevance, shaped by millennia of collective wisdom, as the nation's guiding voice.

On this occasion, Congress state in-charge of Himachal Pradesh Rajiv Shukla, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh, Congress party candidate from Shimla Vinod Sultanpuri, Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, MLA Ajay Solanki and Congress party officials and workers were present.
