Chamkila Biopic Gets A Clear Way After Court Removes Ban From The Release Of The Movie

The director Imitiaz Ali who has been able to deliver many masterpieces to the industry was worried for some time due to his upcoming film. The upcoming highly anticipated film ‘Chamkila’ biopic of the late singers Amar Singh Chamkila and Bibi Amarjot Kaur was facing many legal troubles leading to the ban to the release of the film. But it is good news for the team as well as the audiences who have been waiting for the film for a very long time as after Diljit’s Jodi his Chamkila has also got relief from ban.

The film Chamkila will now be seen in theatres as the court, Civil Judge Senior Division Sumit Makkar has finally lifted the ban from the release of the film after rejecting the petitioner’s ask to stay the release of the film during the hearing yesterday and it is reported that next hearing regarding the case will be held on 7 July 2023. 

Talking about the film, Parineeti will be portraying the role of Amarjot whereas Diljit will be seen as Chamkila in the film. Chamkila is based on the couple, Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur who were assassinated in 8 March 1988 alongwith the members of their musical band. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali. Now all eyes are on the further details regarding the release of the film.
