Stones pelted on police, senior officers reached the spot:
After the initial stone pelting, stones started pelting on the police who went to identify the rioters in the streets of Yateemkhana intersection area of Kanpur. Stones were pelted at the police from the roofs. The police first lathi-charged the crowd, then the police also started throwing stones in response. To control the incident, senior officers reached the spot and started controlling the situation.
