The State Government is committed to provide best environment for the investors to invest in Himachal Pradesh to make the State an industrial hub of the country. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the industrialists of Kala Amb industrial area at Nahan on Thursday evening.The Chief Minister said the State Government has limited land for industrialization due to topographical constrains but still it has emerged as a favourite destination for the investors. He said that expanding and strengthening the connectivity was the main thrust of the State Government. He said that the post GST era has left an even platform for the industrial development in the country. The State Government would not shy away from taking some new initiatives for industrial development of the State.He said that the electricity duty for small industrial units has been reduced from existing 4 per cent to 2 per cent and for medium units from existing 10 per cent to 7 percent. The lease period for industrial plots has also been increased from 30 years to 90 years.
All the new small and medium units have been exempted for electricity duty for five years, he added.He said that the Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority has approved setting up of 17 industrial units with an investment of Rs 456.43 crore, which would provide employment to over 1650 people. He said that industrialists of the State were the brand ambassador of the State and urged them to motivate other investors to come forward to invest in the State.Speaker, Vidhan Sabha Dr Rajiv Bindal said there was lot of scope to develop Kala Amb and Suketi area not only from industrial point of view but also from tourism point of view. Various Associations such as CII, Pharma Industrial Association and Laghu Udhiyog Bharti thanked the Chief Minister for exempting the vehicles bearing Himachal number for paying toll tax at entry barriers. They also listed various demands of the industrialists on the occasion.Urban Development Minister Smt. Sarveen Chaudhary, MLA Shri Suresh Kashyap, former MLA Shri Baldev Tomar were present on the occasion among others.
