Senior Pro-freedom leader and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffer Akbar Bhat today called on former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir Sradar Iteeq Khan at Mujahid Manzil.Sradar Iteeq Ahmd Khan is son of Sardar Abdul Qayoom Khan-former Prime Minster and founder Muslim Conference. Remembering the contributions made by Sardar Abdul Qayoom Khan, Zaffer Akbar Bhat described him visionary and a great leader of Jammu and Kashmir. Bhat said that sacrifices and contributions towards the ongoing movement can’t be ignored.He said that it was Sardar Abdul Qayoom Khan who turned AJK into a base camp and struggled throughout in his life for the dignified resolution of Kashmir conflict and identity of Kashmiris Vice Chairman Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmad Bhat, Hurriyat leader Narendra Singh Khalsa, Abdul Muteen and Khalid Kashmiris were accompanying Zaffer Akbar Bhat.During the meeting, Zaffer Akbar Bhat apprised Sradar Iteeq Ahmad Khan various aspects and political developments of ongoing freedom movement.Duo discussed prevailing situation viz-a-viz Kashmir dispute and agreed to cement the relationship for taking the movement to its logical conclusion.Later interacting with media, Zaffer Akbar Bhat termed current prevailing situation in Kashmir serious. He said that time has come to pressurize both the countries for resolving the Kashmir dispute. Bhat said that political leadership of both sides is moving together in a rights direction.Sradar Iteeq Ahmad Khan said that it was imperative to strength the relationship with the people from both sides. He said that his late father Sardar Abdul Qayoom Khan was a great leader who supported the idea of allowing Kashmiris on both sides to travel across.He said that for peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute a meaningful dialogue between Indo-Pak countries was required. Khan said that Kashmiris have laid down sacrifices so India can’t suppress the ongoing movement with oppression at all. (KNS)
